Designed by Port-A-Pier in 1995, the barge weighs 22,000 pounds and is capable of lifting up to 7,000 pounds.  At 45' long and 10' wide, this piece of equipment is designed to go in water as shallow as 12 inches!  This allows our crews to gain access to waterfront areas never thought possible!!        The barge's Twin 330 Horse Engines allow it to get up to speeds of 38 MPH in less than 8 seconds!  The bow thruster allows the crews to manuever this piece of equipment from side to side giving them more accuracy and precision when handling pier sections.  Not only that but, the barge is capable of making its own safe harbor reaching heights of over 8 feet high!      The Grove 77 crane combined with the surface drive propulsion allows the barge to handle any type of job in areas with limited accessibility for our equipment.

The pontoon boat (also know as the Party Barge) was purchased in 2007.  It measures 24 feet in length and carries a 70 HP motor. This piece of equipment was purchased for the sole purpose of assisting our crews in the installation of our latest anchoring system; the Crowder Grouter.  The crews also use the pontoon boat to gain access and deliver new product to areas with restricted access..  For more information on the pontoon boat or the barge, drop our service department an email at service@port-a-pier.com.
